Educate consumers and buyers through development of promotional materials

Cooked sunray venus PictureTo educate consumers and seafood buyers of the sunray venus clam’s superior attributes, marketing expertise within the DACS Bureau of Seafood and Aqua culture Marketing is being utilized in this project objective. Promotional materials to increase awareness of this new aquaculture product are being designed by FDACS staff. Point-of-purchase materials include brochures, which provide information about availability, buying, handling, storage, and cooking tips, as well as recipes. Cooking demonstrations by chefs preparing sunray venus clams will be video-taped as well. DACS marketing staff will make these materials available to consumers throughout the region. Further, photographs and artwork will be posted at their website for growers, wholesalers, and retailers to access, customize with their business information, and use for their own promotional efforts.
