A series of fact sheets were developed which focus on storm plan development, pre-storm preparations, and post-storm recovery. Specific information pertaining to water-based operations for different oyster culture methods, land-based operations, and workboats can assist oyster growers in developing individualized storm plans to be better prepared for the hurricane season.
Leslie Sturmer provides extension support to the molluscan shellfish industry in Florida. She conducts applied research in all phases of production management including genetic improvement, management strategies, and evaluation of alternative species for culture.
