Oyster Aquaculture Environmental and Community Stewardship

Overview

Maintaining the oyster aquaculture industry’s public image as a steward of the nation’s coastal ecosystems requires diligent management of gear. Environmental stewardship includes planning, action and investment to reduce, reuse, recycle and recover oyster gear and equipment. Suggested practices and examples of community stewardship are given.
